  • June 2009 - Vermont Air Pollution Control Division Releases Test Report on Small Biomass Boilers
The Vermont Air Pollution Control Division releases report titled "Final Test Report, Small Biomass Energy System Particulate Matter Emissions Testing".  The report contains the results of system inlet and outlet EPA Method 5 particulate tests conducted on five wood-fired boilers each fitted with a baghouse, Core Separator® system, Airtechnic multiclone, multiclone or cyclone.

In these tests the Core Separator system had an efficiency of 60% and an average outlet loading of 0.161 lbm/million Btu.  Only the baghouse had both a higher efficiency and lower outlet loading than the Core Separator system.  The full report can be found at the Vermont Air Pollution Control Division's website and clicking on "What's New?".  The study was funded by the U.S. Forestry Service.
